Tami Taylor + Claire the Cheerleader x country music = TV gold, y'all!

ABC's juicy new drama Nashville, which pits TV fan favorites Connie Britton (Friday Night Lights and American Horror Story) and Hayden Panettiere (Heroes) against each other as dueling country music stars, finally premiered tonight and showed viewers just what all the gushy fuss was about. (Seriously, we lurved it.)

So now that you've been officially introduced to the world of Nashville, we want to know what you thought of the new series...

In one corner, we have Rayna (Britton), a country music superstar (think Faith Hill), whose career isn't what it used to be. In the other corner, we have troubled spitfire Juliette (Panettiere, displaying one of the best beyotchy smirks on TV), whose pop sound is dominating their airwaves. A rivalry is immediately started between the two ladies when their label wants them to tour together...with Rayna as Juliette's opener.

Complicating matters even further is the man between them: Deacon (Charles Esten), Rayna's longtime bandleader/former love who gets involved with Juliette, personally and perhaps professionally in the future.

Also introduced in the pilot are Rayna's political-minded husband (Eric Close), who is being backed by her powerful businessman father (played by Powers Boothe) in his run for office, and breakout duo Scarlett and Gunner (portrayed by newcomers Clare Bowen and Sam Palladio), whose haunting cover of The Civil Wars' "If I Didn't Know Better" is currently in a very serious relationship with our iPods.
