Shaun White, Mug Shot

If you ask Shaun White, his boisterous behavior over the weekend wasn't exactly a gold medal-winning moment.

In fact, considering the arrest and embarrassing mug shot that came out of it, he wishes it never happened.

The Olympic snowboarding champ otherwise known as the Flying Tomato issued a mea culpa today for an incident that took place early Sunday morning at the Loews Vanderbilt Hotel in Nashville, Tenn., when a seemingly wasted White allegedly pulled a fire alarm, forcing the evacuation of all the hotel guests, and then destroyed a hotel phone.

"I want to apologize for the unwise choices I made over the weekend and for any inconvenience it caused my family, friends, business partners, the hotel and their guests," he wrote on his Facebook page. "I was celebrating a happy occasion with a ton of family and friends and got carried away. I'm truly sorry for my poor behavior."

When he realized his prank didn't go over too well, the extreme sports icon tried to flee the scene, only to be pursued by a fellow citizen, and ended up falling backwards into a fence, banging his head and sustaining a shiner under his left eye.

White, 26, is now in the legal pipeline, after being booked on charges of misdemeanor vandalism and public intoxication. He was later released.
