Katie Holmes has taken her fashionista status to a whole new level.

On Wednesday, the 33-year-old brunette beauty and her collaborator, longtime stylist Jeanne Yang, debuted their spring 2013 Holmes & Yang collection during New York's Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week.

Katie looked sleek and svelte for the occasion, pairing black pants and a cream top with a leather blazer and yellow heels and jewelry.

Instead of having models strutting down a runway as they do in a fashion show, Katie and Jeanne opted for a smaller presentation. (In a presentation, the models wear the designer's fashions but stand in place, allowing fashion's elite to walk around them and take it all in.)

"In terms of the presentation versus the show, we felt a presentation was more appropriate for the clothes we sell," she told WWD recently. "It's a little more our speed in the way we wanted to go about it, and more of a transition for us from meeting privately with buyers in a hotel room to going right to a big show."

Katie also described the line as "very simple, with very classic lines. We use a lot of silks and leathers and suedes. This year, we're excited because we've incorporated a lot of new trims. It's basically pieces that have evolved from basics, but not too far."

She added that "they're just nice, well-made luxury items that highlight the woman wearing them" and noted that pieces of the collection range from $700 to $3,000.

Cha-ching!
