After being sadly sidetracked by the unfortunate passing of her mother, Robin Roberts checked herself into the hospital on Monday to prepare for her bone marrow transplant.

But before doing so, the Good Morning America cohost, who is undergoing the procedure after being diagnosed with myelodysplastic syndrome earlier this year, took to Twitter to send out a moving message.

"My last tweet for awhile. Heading to hospital...time to focus on healing," she wrote this morning. "I take each & every one of you w/me in my heart. Light and love."

Meanwhile, Roberts spent some quality time on Sunday with several coworkers, including GMA news anchor Josh Elliott.

"Shhhhhh...don't tell my doctors I'm up late w/ @GMA fam before I go to hospital in the AM," she playfully tweeted.

Roberts, also a breast cancer survivor, began her medical leave from the show on Aug. 30. While she is away, folks like Diane Sawyer, Oprah Winfrey, Barbra Walters and Katie Couric will be filling in for her until she returns.
