It's time for Eddie Murphy to break out his badge again!

The star is set to bring his beloved franchise Beverly Hills Cop to the small screen, as CBS has ordered a pilot from Murphy and Shawn Ryan, the creator of The Shield, who would serve as showrunner of the proposed series.

But will the series center on Murphy's iconic character?

While Murphy, who will be an executive producer on the show, will reprise his role of Axel Foley in the pilot and would possibly recur on the show should it receive a series order, according to Vulture, Beverly Hills Cop would focus on Axel's blue-collar Detroit police officer son, Aaron, and his fish-out-of-water efforts to take down criminals in Beverly Hills while living in his father's shadow.

The role of Aaron has yet to be cast, but is it wrong that we kind of wish Donald Glover could magically take on two TV roles at once, balancing Beverly Hills Cop with Community? Hey, a TV viewer can dream!

This isn't the only reboot CBS is currently working on: Vince Vaughn is looking to reboot The Brady Bunch, with the new show focusing on the family's youngest son, Bobby.
