It's hard out there for a prince.

And while Prince Harry has done his level best to keep calm and carry on (clothed) in the wake of his all-encompassing, strangely endearing Las Vegas nude photo scandal, some of his supposed fellow partiers have kept their lips neither stiff nor closed, with the first alleged tell-all of his stateside shenanigans making their way into the British tabloids over the holiday weekend.

The problem? Turns out, the girl who claimed to have lived it up big with the redheaded royal in fact did no such thing.

So it wasn't just a little white lie she told the Mirror (and thus, the rest of the world's media, as her alleged account quickly made its way into heavy rotation). It was a big, flashing, neon sign of a lie—to the point where the palace, which normally keeps itself above the tabloid fray—had no choice but to shoot down.

"The story is not true," a spokesperson for Buckingham Palace told E! News. "Prince Harry has never met her."

The her in question happens to be Carrie Reichert, the 32-year-old Britain-born blond model who told the red-top newspaper that she had the honor of spending 15-20 minutes in a "drunken fumble" with the prince after his infamous game of strip billiards. She also gleefully detailed his alleged behavior over the course of the night, claiming Harry was a "gentleman," albeit a "wasted" one, and took to giving out "really random naked hugs."

Well, every fairy tale needs a lead, and unfortunately for Harry, he was unwittingly cast in this one courtesy of this headline-grabbing gal. We bet it won't be the last.
