Alicia Etheredge-Brown was hospitalized at an Orlando hospital after the incident occurred in the couple's hotel room in Kissimmee, Fla., Bobby confirmed on his Twitter page.
"The report that my wife was rushed to the hospital is true," Brown tweeted Saturday afternoon. "She is recovering and in good spirits. Please keep my family in your prayers."
The site Gossipextra.com first reported Etheridge-Brown's emergency.
News of his wife's health scare comes on the heels of Brown's decision to check into rehab for addiction issues shortly after marrying Etheredge in Hawaii.
He checked himself out three weeks later.
Bobby and his wife were in town for a concert celebrating New Edition's 30th anniversary. The singer was reportedly in the middle of a sound check when he was told about his wife's condition.
