He was Travis Barker's best friend and musical collaborator and he won't be forgotten.

Three years to the day since DJ AM's tragic death due to an accidental drug overdose at the age of 36, the Blink-182 drummer took to Twitter to pay touching tribute to the late mix master and honor his pal's memory.

"Rest in Peace/Power 2 my brotha DJAM. Been 3 years it still feels like yesterday.Miss rockin/kickin' it hearing u drop knowledge," tweeted the 36-year-old Barker.

Barker and AM (real name Adam Goldstein) were pretty tight, but even more so after both survived a fiery Learjet crash in September 2008 that killed four other people. But the musician also recalled how much of a positive influence the star DJ was.

"Wish AM was still here for many reasons. He tried for years to get me sober & I was a dumpster & couldn't see thru the fog #finallydrugfree," wrote Barker, adding, "Bump every mix-tape he made today, turn that s--t up loud & enjoy. He was 1 of a kind. #ripdjam #awwwwyeah."
