Jay Leno is stepping up in the midst of a Tonight Show shake-up.

As a part of a major budget-restructuring plan, at least 20 employees were laid off from the NBC late-night show Friday, an NBC rep confirmed to E! News, and the Tonight Show host reportedly offered to take a pay cut to save jobs, according to the Los Angeles Times.

The comedian's current salary is between $25 million and $30 million.

"Jay's foremost concern is for the wonderful people who work for The Tonight Show," Leno's spokesman, Bruce Bobbins, told the Times. "He did what was necessary to ensure their wellbeing."

Many other senior staffers also agreed to pay cuts to prevent further job loss, the Times reported.

The Tonight Show and E! are a part of the NBCUniversal family.
