Max Greenfield will have Gwyneth Paltrow on his mind when he walks the Emmy awards red carpet next month.

Why's that?

"I'm going to document the experience for GOOP," the Emmy-nominated New Girl star told us while promoting Finding Susan Glenn, his new web series for AXE.

"I don't think I'm going to be doing any video camera stuff but I am definitely going to take some photos [when] preparing myself for the evening and I'm going to write up an organized piece," he said.

Greenfield and Paltrow became friends after the Oscar-winning actress got turned on to New Girl.

"She tweeted something about how she liked the show and I guess how much she was enjoying me on the show," Greenfield, who guest edited GOOP back in May, said. "So we got in contact with her and I said, 'You know I'm a big fan of your website and I said I'd love to write something.'"

The 31-year-old funnyman says he's still prepping his Emmys look. "Jeremy Piven did a navy blue tux one year and as good as he looked in it I don't think that's the direction I want to go," he dished. "I'm going to stick with black and I'm going to go from there."

So why doesn't Greenfield take Paltrow along for the ride as his Emmys date? He laughed, "I think ultimately my wife would understand but even still I'm going to take my wife to the Emmys."
