Happy Birthday, Ben Affleck! Oscar Winner Turns 40

This family man is ready to blow out some candles.

Actor Ben Affleck turns the big 4-0 today, and whether wife Jennifer Garner has something up her sleeve or the dad of three chooses to spend a night in, Affleck will surely be surrounded by a lot of love on his special day.

The star has definitely taken some time out of the Hollywood spotlight to hang with his adorable family, but don't think he's vanished forever.

Affleck has not one, not two, but three upcoming films (Runner, Runner, Argo—which will be featured at the 2012 Toronto Film Festival—and To the Wonder) and he's currently being eyed by Warner Bros. Studios to direct the anticipated superhero flick Justice League.

And as far as his, um, health (?), wife Jen reassures everyone (while on Late Show With David Letterman Tuesday night) that all is good in that department.

"Are you asking about Ben Affleck's testosterone level, really?" she said to Dave. "Have you seen my husband lately? He is walking testosterone!"
