May 2011: Jennifer and Justin are spotted grabbing dinner at L.A.'s Sunset Tower Hotel, per People. The duo, who became friends earlier that year on the set of Wanderlust, reportedly enjoy a three-hour meal together.
July 7, 2011: Jen takes her relationship public on this special day! Justin smiles in the front row as Jen places her handprints in cement at Grauman's Chinese Theatre in Hollywood.
August 2011: Things get serious when Jen and Justin move in together to a Hollywood Hills rental.
February 2012: Jen and Justin become proud parents to Sophie, a boxer-pitbull mix they adopted. "She's the most adorable little cookie you've ever seen," Justin tells New York Magazine. "She looks like she just smoked an exploding cigar."
Feb. 17, 2012: They put a ring on it—kinda! Jen and Justin both show up to the Wanderlust premiere in L.A. wearing gold rings with one another's names.
Apr. 4, 2012: Talk about a fabulous foursome! Jen and Justin go on a double date with Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson.
Apr. 13, 2012: Jen's ex-husband, Brad Pitt, gets engaged to Angelina Jolie. A pal of Jen's tells E! News at the time that the Friends star "doesn't care" about her ex's engagement. "She's happy with Justin. She'll probably marry him. She's moved on. People don't want to believe it, but she has."
June 2012: Ooh la la! Jen and Justin share a romantic meal at Le Jules Verne restaurant in Paris. As part of their 10-day vacation, the lovebirds spend day three sightseeing in Paris.
Also in June, rumors fly that the twosome is engaged after Jen was spotted wearing a diamond ring. The ring, on her right hand, is actually just the same solitaire diamond ring she's been wearing since 2011.
August 10, 2012: On Justin's 41st birthday, he pops the question to Jen. She (obviously) said yes, and the duo share their news with the world two days later.
