Ready for the penultimate day?

Just a day before the Olympics come to a close (and the Spice Girls give us one awesome reunion performance), Team USA women's basketball is gearing up for a match against France, Brit diver Tom Daley will show whether he can make a comeback, and the men's soccer tournament will conclude in Saturday afternoon's gold medal game.

And let's just say the French hoops team's coach doesn't exactly have high hopes of knocking down the undefeated American squad.

"The United States built the game," France's coach Pierre Vincent told The Guardian. "They cannot be beaten, they're invincible."

And while that may not be the best morale boost for the team, French backup point guard Edwige Lawson-Wade was a little more positive about their chances, saying, "To beat the USA you have to do the perfect game. Perfect in defense, perfect in offense. It's something that happens once every few years but it happens."

This will be the first time since 1996 that the Americans won't be facing Australia for the gold.

Meanwhile, expect a diving showdown at Saturday's semifinals. British diving hottie Tom Daley barely made it into the competition after struggling Friday (finishing in 15th place out of 18 qualifying spots), but he'll be on hand to compete against Chinese diving medal frontrunners Lin Yue and Qiu Bo.

In other Olympic games, Brazil will play Mexico for gold in soccer, and with both teams competing for their respective countries' first gold medal, you can believe it's going to be one heck of a matchup.
