Hip-hop and EDM fans will be missing the sounds of two of the industry's biggest names for a while.

Rapper Lil Wayne announced during an interview with Atlanta radio station Hot 107.9 last week that he's going to back away from the studio for a bit and instead hit up the skate park (maybe with Ryan Lochte?).

Meanwhile, music producer and deejay Deadmau5 told fans on his website a couple days ago that he will be taking a hiatus from performing.

"I kinda feel like I deserve that, I feel like the fans deserve a little No Wayne. I've been everywhere, man. I've been out on everybody's song, I'm still on everybody's song," Tunechi told the station. "My artists are doing awesome; I believe the fans deserve some peace from me, so I'll be on my skateboard in the meantime."

Deadmau5, on the other hand, explained to fans that he needs to "unplug for a wee bit" when it comes to performing, but won't cancel any upcoming shows and will still be writing and releasing music.

"i got a lot of work to do on some stuff. so, best i just chill the f--k out a bit and just get it done, and get it done RIGHT, until im 100% satisfied with it. Then our regularily scheduled program shall continue. but yeah, im basicly pretty miserable right now and need to pull the f--k back and figure out whatever the f--k it is i do."
