Hailee Steinfeld, Douglas Booth, Romeo and Juliet

Sure, Bella Swan and Edward Cullen may have the world of vampire romance on lockdown (all recent drama considered), but there's a lovey-dovey story that trumps even Twilight: that of Juliet and her Romeo.

Which is exactly why the Shakespeare classic is heading to the big screen again, nearly a decade and a half after Baz Luhrmann's Romeo + Juliet starring Claire Danes and Leonardo DiCaprio. This time with True Grit's Hailee Steinfeld and Douglas Booth (who recently appeared opposite Miley Cyrus in LOL) as the star-crossed lovers.

"They were very cute, I'll tell you that much," Kodi Smit-McPhee teased about the duo's chemistry when we caught up with him at the premiere of his animated flick ParaNorman yesterday. Kodi plays Romeo's cousin Benvolio in the film directed by Carlo Carlei.

"It was amazing," Kodi recalled about his time on set. "We finished that a while ago, and I'm just waiting for it to come out. [ParaNorman] and that are what I'm very excited about."

So why should audiences get excited for another spin on the classic tale?

"I think every kid from this generation should see that once in their life," Smit-McPhee continued. "Because it makes you appreciate drama."

Plus, having two very talented young actors (Steinfeld is an Oscar nominee, after all) with killer chemistry taking on the doomed lovebirds doesn't hurt. Move over, Leo and Claire, it sounds like your take on those classic sonnets will have some serious competition when this flick debuts.
