One of Britain's most beloved pop stars is in mourning. Take That's Gary Barlow heartbreakingly revealed today that his fourth child was delivered stillborn over the weekend.

The singer, who masterminded Queen Elizabeth II's Diamond Jubilee concert and theme song earlier this summer, and who traveled with Prince Harry on his Jubilee tour in the spring, released a statement of mourning  on behalf of himself and his wife following the tragic loss.

"Dawn and I are devastated to announce that we've lost our baby," he said in a statement today. "Poppy Barlow was delivered stillborn on Aug. 4 in London.

"Our focus now is giving her a beautiful funeral and loving our three children with all our hearts. We'd ask at this painful time that our privacy be respected."

The 41-year-old singer and his 42-year-old wife of 12 years have three other children, son Daniel, 11, and daughters Emily, 10, and Daisy, 3.

Barlow announced the pregnancy to fans back in February, saying at the time that they were "a very excited family." Dawn was roughly eight-and-half months pregnant when she delivered Poppy, reportedly just two weeks away from her official due date.

While Barlow had no gigs formally on the books in the coming weeks, he, along with Take That, had been widely rumored to be taking part in Sunday's Olympics closing ceremony.
