Ladies and gentlemen of the Capitol, the tributes have been chosen.

Well, one tribute has officially been selected, at least. After word hit the Internet earlier this month that Jena Malone was in talks to join The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, Lionsgate confirmed the casting today.

So who will Jena be playing?

If you've been keeping up with the casting, you'll know she's set to star as Johanna Mason.

"Johanna is a female victor from a past Games still in her early twenties, and is one of the youngest, but also one of the most psychologically scarred Quarter Quell participants," a press release announcing the casting explains.

Jena—who starred in films such as Sucker Punch, Into the Wild and Saved!—was most recently seen in the Emmy-nominated Hatfields & McCoys (which also nabbed the honor of "most-watched entertainment telecast of all time on cable").

Malone joins Academy Award winner Philip Seymour Hoffman and Tony winner Amanda Plummer, who also have nabbed parts in the sequel to the box office juggernaut The Hunger Games. Malone's character, along with Hoffman's, also appears in the final book Mockingjay, which will be split into two films for the big screen.

With the way casting has gone so far—that is, the buzz can actually be believed—Snow White and the Huntsman's Sam Claflin could very well be our hotly anticipated Finnick Odair. Guess we'll just have to wait and see if that's the next casting Lionsgate confirms!

In the meantime, do you approve of Jena as Johanna or do you think this is the worst thing to happen since, well, the Capitol made kids battle it out to the death? Sound off below!
