Paris wasn't the final premiere The Dark Knight Rises had on its calendar.

In the next week, the movie is scheduled to have glitzy red carpet premieres in Mexico City and Tokyo.

Warner Bros. has yet to announce if the events have been canceled, but industry insiders tell E! News they can't imagine they'll take place as planned.

The international market continues to become more important to Hollywood. The Los Angeles Times reported yesterday that "it's not uncommon for 70 percent or more of a popular film's worldwide tickets sales to [now] come from overseas."

The Dark Knight Rises had a premiere in New York City earlier this week as well as in the U.K.

The Amazing Spider-Man was heavily promoted overseas and in Latin America. Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone held court at premieres and events in Madrid, Berlin, Paris, and Tokyo.

Before that, The Avengers swept through Berlin, Rome, London and Moscow.

UPDATE: Warner Bros. has released the following statement to E! News: "Due to the tragic events in Aurora, Colorado, Warner Bros. Pictures has cancelled the previously scheduled personal appearances by the cast and filmmakers in Mexico and Japanon behalf of The Dark Knight Rises. However, in an effort not to disappoint the dedicated fans of the film, we will proceed with our previously scheduled special screenings for invited guests and promotional winners."
