Game of Thrones' Sean Bean Not Charged for Allegedly Harassing Ex-Wife

Actor will not face any further action over the claims made against him in May

It looks like Sean Bean is in the clear.

E! News confirms that the 53-year-old Game of Thrones and Lord of the Rings star will not face any charges stemming from his arrest in May for allegedly harassing his ex-wife through abusive text messages and calls.

A spokesman for London's Metropolitan Police tells E! News that a "53-year-old man attended a Central London police station by appointment on May 9, 2012, where he was arrested on suspicion of harassment and bailed pending further enquiries. He has since been released with no further action."

The law-enforcement official also added that the agency "would not comment on whether anyone was required to give fingerprints and DNA samples."

The actor reportedly handed himself over to the Holborn police station after the claims were made against him by his fourth ex-wife, Georgina Sutcliffe, in May. Authorities subsequently continued with the investigation.

Bean and Sutcliffe split in December 2010, citing irreconcilable differences, after two years of marriage.
