Are we going to experience the Wrath of Khan once again?

In February, we learned that Benedict Cumberbatch was cast as the new villain for J.J. Abrams' Star Trek 2, but no one knew who he would be playing. Since then, word on the Internet is Cumberbatch will take on the role of Khan Noonien Singh, who first appeared on the Star Trek episode, "Space Seed."

Should we (red) alert Captain Kirk that one of the series' most deadly villains will be threatening the U.S.S. Enterprise in the remake?

Hold on to your phasers, Trekkies, because this rumor is...

So false!

Simon Pegg—who plays Mr. Scott in the 2009 flick—told The Telegraph, "It's not Khan. That's a myth. Everyone's saying it is, but it's not. I think people just want to have a scoop. It annoys me—it's beyond the point to just ferret around for spoilers all the time to try to be the first to break them."

"It just spoils the film," he continues. "It masquerades as interest in the movie but really it's just nosiness and impatience. You just want to say, ‘Oh f--k off! Wait for the film!'"

You heard what Scotty said, and he canna make it any simpler than that!

But seriously, who is Benedict Cumberbatch playing? Let us know your thoughts in the comments!
