Even rockers need to rest sometimes. 3 Doors Down guitarist Matt Roberts is leaving the band "to focus on his health," according to the band's website.

Roberts, who is one of the band's three founding members, has spent nearly 20 years with the group and sold over 20 million albums worldwide.

"3 Doors Down will always have a special place in my heart and it saddens me to take this time off," he said in a statement. "But my health has to be my first priority."

Per the band's website, Roberts "has unfortunately, dealt with health and circulation problems and those issues have only been exacerbated by performing nearly 300 dates each year with the band."

But Roberts' bandmates—Brad Arnold, Todd Harrell, Chris Henderson and Greg Upchurch—will continue 3 Doors Down's current tour "with a blessing from Roberts."

"Matt is our brother and he will always be a part of this band and he will always be welcomed back with open arms," Arnold added.

We wish him well.
