Mission accomplished!

David Beckham arrived in the U.K. on Friday with the Olympic torch in tow.

His landing at the naval base in Cornwall completed the trek he started on Thursday from Greece's Panathenaic Stadium, where the soccer star had joined officials during a handover ceremony.

As part of today's festivities, Beckham climbed onto a stage with the torch and lit a cauldron that will continue burning throughout the night.

Meanwhile, the torch itself will continue traveling as it will now go on a 70-day-long, 8,000-mile journey around the country before it eventually winds up at London's Olympic Stadium on July 27 for the opening ceremony.
