Looks like the Desperate Housewives series finale wasn't the only thing that stretched too long…

Like a peacock in heat, Eva Longoria shows us a whole lot of plumage at the opening ceremony of the 2012 Cannes Film Festival in this embroidered Marchesa gown, matching bejeweled clutch and a sleek updo.

But all we have eyes for is...

The stunning tulle train which makes us want to rub our faces in it and chase her around the red carpet like it's a ball of catnip yarn!

It's a dramatic gown for the 37-year-old and sooo much fabric for such a little nugget—imagine if this was given the legs of an Amazonian supermodel?!—but she pulls it off beautifully and her body is perfection.

What can we say? Eva has never looked better than in this showstopper look—even her shadow got dressed for the event!
