Attention all you Community fans who voted in our Save One Show poll, Joel McHale is thanking you for getting the show renewed.

We caught up with The Soup host on the red carpet at NBC's Upfront presentation in New York City, where we celebrated the show's renewal. "And thank God for E!'s fan poll!" he exclaims, before sharing an "E! high five" with us. Trust us, all the cool kids are doing it.

After celebrating Community's renewal, we chatted with Joel about the show's move to Friday night, showrunner Dan Harmon's possible exit and more...

Think Community and Grimm are an odd pairing? Well then you're the only one because Joel tells us, "The show is very similar to Grimm. There's going to be a lot more werewolves and vampires and woodland elves. We're going to shoot it in Portland just like Grimm, so you won't even tell." Genius move!

NBC boss Robert Greenblatt addressed Dan Harmon's future with the show yesterday, telling reporters, "I expect Dan's voice to be part of the show somehow, I'm just not sure if that means him running it day-to-day or consulting on it."

Of Harmon's possible exit, Joel says, "It would be very weird. He created the show, so it would be very weird. Obviously, I don't know what is happening." Still, Human Beings can breathe a sigh of relief knowing Joel isn't going anywhere. "I think contractually I have to be a part of the show. I hope it gets settled soon. Dan is the voice of the show, so it would be like Ryan Seacrest not hosting American Idol."

We shudder at the thought!

(E! and NBC are both part of the NBCUniversal family.)
