News of the 18-year-old pop star's romantic dalliance didn't sit too well with his ardent admirers, and apparently hell hath no fury like a boy-band fanatic scorned, as fans quickly gathered up their cyber pitchforks to chase after Ostilly…
They seem to have succeeded: Ostilly, 18, has deactivated her Twitter account following a barrage of threats and slicing snarks from disgruntled One Direction fans.
One user went so far as to create a Facebook page called "Anti-Emma Ostilly," which featured a photo the couple snapped of themselves—but with a large "Stop" sign plastered on Ostilly's pretty mug.
The two reportedly met on the set of the music-video shoot for One Direction's hit "Gotta Be You," but reconnected when the band traveled to New Zealand, where Ostilly supposedly lives.
A source, however, tells E! News that Styles and Ostilly are not dating, but are just friends.
Fans have been getting some serious whiplash trying to follow Styles' love life: He was previously linked to British TV personality Caroline Flack, who is 15 years his senior, and he recently asked 32-year-old Bachelorette star Jillian Harris out on a date. Cougarrific!
There were also rumors of a romance with 19-year-old singer Lily Halpern, which she's denied.
