Any interest in a date with George Clooney and President Barack Obama?

The Obama campaign is announcing today a new contest offering grassroots supporters an opportunity to be the Oscar winner's guest at a May 10 fundraiser in Los Angeles with the president at Clooney's home!

Do we hear an Obama-Clooney dream ticket in the making?

The latest email blast from Obama campaign headquarters states those who make a donation to the the commander in chief's reelection bid today will automatically be entered for a chance to score an invitation to the dinner.

"George Clooney is doing his part to help reelect the president, but he knows that it's grassroots supporters like you who will decide this election," states the campaign.

Clooney, of course, is no stranger to politics. Not only did he recently play a Democratic presidential candidate in last year's acclaimed political drama The Ides of March, but he's been raising awareness on Capitol Hill about the ongoing crisis in Sudan.
