New photos have been released from director Christopher Nolan's final chapter of his Batman trilogy, The Dark Knight Rises, and if you think the Caped Crusader's nemesis was a badass bad guy before, this new batch of images should cement that view and then some.

Wonderful. But were there any good spoilers?

Not many.

Some of the pictures appear to simply be drawn from the preview that hit theaters a few months back, like a shot of the Caped Crusader (Christian Bale), and a masked Bane (Tom Hardy) grappling in the streets (see above). A second shot shows the arch-terrorist staring menacingly and is the same moment in last December's teaser, by the way, when he tells Batman, "When Gotham's in ashes, then you have my permission to die."

A third snapshot reveals Bruce Wayne standing in front of a brand-new Bat suit while a fourth finds Batman looking out from what appears to be a rooftop high above the Gotham skyline.

More pics have surfaced via Entertainment Weekly, which is giving fanboys even more endless speculation as to what Bane, and Anne Hathaway's Catwoman for that matter, might be up to in the final film. The studio also unveiled this week a new publicity still of the sexy feline villainess dressed in leather.  All we can say is Meow!

The Dark Knight Rises, which recently snagged a Pg-13 rating, unspools July 20.
