James Franco isn't just sitting around lip-syncing to Selena Gomez and Rihanna songs these days.

After all, Mr. Franco is Hollywood's unofficial Renaissance Man.

But you'd think after making 127 Hours the last thing he'd ever want to do again is work around big treacherous rocks...

But there was Franco directing his latest feature, a movie adaptation of Cormac McCarthy's 1973 novel Child of God, in a…cave!

"We were shooting under the rocks and James is in there directing," Fallon Goodson, who plays Girly in the film, told me while promoting her new movie, L!fe Happens. "I was like, 'Why doesn't he have post-traumatic stress right now because it's 127 Hours all over again?'"

Goodson also plays Franco's younger sister in another upcoming indie, Maladies. "He's very inspiring," she gushed. "He's one of those people who makes you want to work harder."

L!fe Happens (in theaters on Friday) is a far cry from the Franco dramas. It's a comedy about two best friends Kim (Don't Trust the B---h in Apt. 2B star Krysten Ritter) and Deena (Kate Bosworth) coping with Kim's unexpected pregnancy.

Goodson's Cavalier Kings Charles, Scarlett O'Hara, has a cameo. "I was kind of like a stage mom," she laughed. "But she was great—she was a natural!"
