Oh, Ryan Seacrest, you just love to stir the romance-rumor pot any chance you get. Wednesday night's performance show was on fire with some pretty epic performances, but it was Ryan's comment of a hot new couple alert between Colton Dixon and Skylar Laine that had everyone in the audience going wild!

So what did the alleged lovebirds have to say about it? Who thinks they'll be in the bottom three, and whose head was on fire at the mansion? We've got the scoop!

Every season of Idol, it is inevitable contestants will deal with dating rumors. The Twitterverse was buzzing with speculation that Colton and Skylar were on their way to being more than friends and Ryan didn't hold back on trying to egg it on after their duet.

No one really bought their on-camera denial, especially us, who, from our seat behind the judges table, saw them warmly hugging during the end of show recap of performances! When we caught up with the two after the show, they assured us the rumors are just Tinseltown talk.

"Twitter is sooo funny," Skylar told us. "I've been getting a lot of tweets that ask, 'Are you and Colton Dixon dating?' and I just  kind of blow it off, but then Ryan comes onstage and says, 'Well that was real believable!' We just cleared it up backstage. Me and Colton are not dating, that would be kind of weird. Colton is one of my best friends!"

Speaking of Colton, the rock cutie took his look to the next level by surprising fans with blond locks and told us bleaching his hair basically set his scalp on fire!

"He ran up the stairs and was like 'My scalp is burning!" Skylar said. "It was hilarious."

"It hurts! Dang!" Colton added. "I have never bleached my hair before, so it was like my head is on fire. But I have a friend who does hair, so I brought him to the mansion and said, 'Please do this. I'm so ready to go blond.' And I think it turned out well. I'm having so much more fun!"

While Deandre Brackensick, Jessica Sanchez, Phillip Phillips, Joshua Ledet, Colton and Skylar received glowing reviews for their performances, Hollie Cavanagh and Elise Testone gave less-than-stellar, pitchy performances which got them negative feedback from the judges. Even though Jennifer Lopez advised Hollie to "let it go," Hollie said she's ready to be in trouble at Thursday's elimination.

"I feel OK. When you get negative feedback, it's hard to say 'Oh I did so good.' I'm just trying to stay positive going into tomorrow. I actually saw my dad and said. 'Well I'm in trouble tomorrow.' And he got mad at me for being negative."

With another cut coming tomorrow, Elise isn't stressing about the elimination. "I try not to think about it and right before it happens. I get the worst anxiety ever!" she told us. "I should figure out a new ritual. I try to get sleep because then I won't be as sensitive."

Who do you think will be in the bottom three? Do you think Colton and Skylar would be a good real-life couple? Let us know in the comments!
