Jeremy Renner has lost his little best friend.
With great sadness, E! News confirms with the actor's rep that Renner's 8-month-old miniature French bulldog, Franklin, whom he adopted last year, died on Saturday at a Little League baseball game.
Here's what happened...
The actor had been away (details were not disclosed), so Franklin's care was in the hands of Renner's friend and business partner, Kristoffer Winters, who decided to take the pup with him to his nephew's baseball game.
Unfortunately, the small dog started to vomit and convulse after running around under the hot sun, and Winters returned from grabbing a snack to find Franklin dead in another person's arms. Three people tried to resuscitate the Frenchie, but it didn't work.
As if that already didn't make your heart sink, Renner told Details magazine last December that Franklin was the only consistent thing in his life.
"I was getting really lonely. I needed somebody or something to be there with me through the whole journey."
Our condolences, Jeremy.
