Rihanna Chooses Grunge Over Glam, Again

Rihanna was spotted in New York City wearing a grungy skull cap that tells you everything you want to know about her

Rihanna once again—and much to our dismay—chooses grunge over glamour. Le sigh.

The 23-year-old singer was snapped leaving her hotel and going to dinner at Ballato restaurant in New York City on Tuesday.

She sported a red and black striped knit hat that announced her rap star status—it actually says "Rapstar" on the hat!—a shredded oversized boyfriend jean jacket atop a simple black tank, black leggings and black pumps. Such a great base on such a gorgeous figure!

Our one question is...

How hard would it be for her to swap out that beaten-up jacket for one of those fun colorful blazers? Or maybe just something that doesn’t look like it was run over by a truck.

The trailer for Rihanna's upcoming summer movie Battleship, (yes, based on the classic kids' game), was released earlier that day and also stars Taylor Kitsch, Brooklyn Decker, Alexander Skarsgård, Tadanobu Asano and Liam Neeson.

The action packed sci-fi thriller sure looks exciting, but we can already take a guess as to what the ending will be—somebody exclaiming, “Ahhh, you sunk my battleship!”

Still, we are forreal going to see it.
