Russell Brand is a wanted man!

On Monday, Katy Perry's ex-hubby hurled a paparazzo's iPhone through a New Orleans office window. Now a police department spokesman tells E! News that a misdemeanor warrant for criminal damage to property was issued for Brand in the amount of $700.

In typical @rustyrockets style, Brand took to Twitter to respond to the allegations against him…

He tweeted Wednesday: "Since Steve Jobs died I cannot bear to see anyone use an iphone irreverently, what I did was a tribute to his memory."

An employee from the law firm with the broken window tells E! News the window replacement was paid for by Lamb Productions. No word on the iPhone, though.
