Model and fashion blogger Lauren Scruggs is continuing to move forward with a positive attitude.

It's been nearly three months since a horrific propeller accident caused the Texas beauty to lose her left eye and hand, but according to mom Cheryl's Caring Bridge journal update Tuesday, this past week has been a "positive" one.

"We have had some great talks! There's been lots of laughter, amongst the tears," Cheryl writes. "She is regaining her strength. She's taking one day at a time, but she finds it hard to be patient at times. She wants to 'sprint' through this ordeal. And frankly we do too."

But Lauren's mom points out recovery "is a marathon. And in a marathon, one must pace themselves, and be diligent in training, in order to finish the race well. It's the new norm."

The Scruggs family is relying on their strong Christian faith as they continue to move beyond tragedy. "It is what we cling to," Cheryl writes. "It is intertwined with every move, every action, every thought, every word, every insecurity, and every speechless moment."
