If Elton, Céline and Cher can do it, why not Cee Lo Green?

The Grammy-winning soul singer, rapper and judge of the NBC hit The Voice has just signed up for a semi-permanent residency in Las Vegas' Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino. The gig aims to put a hip-hop spin on the late great Strip icon Liberace and is dubbed, appropriately enough, CeeLo Green Presents Loberace.

So what can we expect?

Last April, Cee Lo shot a music video for "I Want You (Hold On To Love)" in which the Muppet-sized musician debuted his alter ego, Loberace, bedecked in outrageous sequined costumes and surrounded by gorgeous Vegas showgirls alongside a glittering piano. The video was a tribute to Liberace, a Sin City mainstay known for his flamboyant productions.

Now Cee Lo promises to up the ante big time with Loberace, which he promises will be a energetic, exotic spectacle that's "part dance party, part live intimate concert."

"CeeLo, the conductor-ringmaster 'Loberace,' will take you on a ride through the colorful decades of music, stopping at legendary moments in time, from Prince to Blue Magic to the Rolling Stones, new wave to disco and beyond," trumpets the press release.

The stage show will feature showgirls, pyrotechnics, mind-bending magic and surreal glam flourishes, as well as the 37-year-old's signature hits like "Forget You" and the Gnarls Barkley smash "Crazy."

Loberace will premiere on Aug. 29 in the resort's 1,400-seat showroom with 28 performances scheduled so far through the end of the year.
