Selena Gomez wants you to know that the tattoo she got the other day isn't what everyone thinks it is.
It was widely reported earlier this week that the former Wizards of Waverly Place star got a tiny heart inked onto her right wrist at the Under the Gun tattoo shop in Hollywood.
Turns out it's not a heart!
So what is it? Read on to find out...
"It's a music note," Gomez told me at the Women in Film cocktail party at Cecconi's in West Hollywood. "Everybody thought it was a heart, but it's a little music note."
In other words, it's not, as many may have assumed, a symbol of love inspired by her boyfriend, Justin Bieber.
"I was named after a singer and music obviously is a big influence for me," Gomez explained. "And there's music stuff with my mom that means a lot to me, too."
Awww.
Hosted by Gwyneth Paltrow, the Women in Film party was a packed house with peeps like Viola Davis, Octavia Spencer, Jessica Chastain, Demián Bichir, Shailene Woodley, Janet McTeer, Gabourey Sidibe, Allison Janney, Jennifer Morrison, Blythe Danner, Jena Malone, Ziyi Zhang and WIF president Cathy Schulman.
Guests sipped Perrier-Jouët champagne and went home with gift bags from MAC Cosmetics and celebrity spinning studios SoulCycle.
Vanessa Hudgens, just back from a vacation in Rome, hit the soiree in a bright orange sleeveless silk racerback dress from Tibi.
"Black is so boring," the Journey 2: The Mysterious Island star told me. "My New Year's resolution was to wear colors and I'm doing it."
And you do it beautifully, Ms. Hudgens.
She also chopped off a lot of her hair. "It's fun," Hudgens said. "It's nice to not have a massive head of hair. I feel so light now. It's nice."
