The mystery as to what caused Whitney Houston's death is going to remain just that. At least for a little while longer.

The singer's death certificate has formally been filed with Los Angeles County. So what did it reveal about the 48-year-old's sudden and tragic death?

In additon to some basic information and statistics—her name, date of birth, occupation ("entertainer"), marital status, next of kin Bobbi Kristina and place of death—the certificate failed to identify Houston's official cause of death, instead listing it as "deferred" pending further investigation.

The Los Angeles County Coroner's office today subpoenaed the medical and pharmacological records of Houston as part of their investigation into her death, and the singer's toxicology results are not expected for a few weeks' time.

However, while the date and location of Whitney's funeral has already been announced (this Saturday at noon at Newark's New Hope Baptist Church) the certificate did reveal where Houston will be buried.

Just like her father, the iconic singer will be laid to rest at the Fairview Cemetery in Westfield, N.J. Hopefully, in peace.
