An Academy award. A Tony award. And now, a medal from the president.

The Godfather and Scarface star Al Pacino was recognizing for his contributions to film and theater by Barack Obama today, as the 2011 National Medals of Arts and National Humanities Medals were being given out at a ceremony held in the East Room of the White House.

Pacino was awarded the honor of National Medal of Arts because of his "signature intensity," among other things.

And he wasn't the only famous face there...

Sex and the City's Sarah Jessica Parker was in attendance for the ceremony, reportedly standing up and applauding while taking pictures of Obama like a true supporter.

And as for her super chic outfit?

"Oh, this is something old. I just grabbed it. I don't even know who did the dress, but it's vintage. The coat is Mr. [Oscar] de la Renta," she told the Washingtonian along with a shrug concerning her fuschia stilettos.

Would we expect anything less from Carrie Bradshaw, er, SJP?
