Double the Kevin, double the awesome!

In extremely cool TV casting news, sources confirm that Kevin Bacon is set to star in Vampire Diaries' mastermind Kevin Williamson's currently untitled serial-killer pilot for Fox. Told ya it was awesome!

So who is Bacon playing? And how many episodes has he signed on for? Here's what we can tell you...

While the deal is not 100 percent official yet, sources reveal it's very close, and details are being finalized now. Deadline first reported the news, saying Bacon only committed to 15 episodes a season versus the standard 22-episode order, however we are told the project is being conceived as a 15-episode-per-season series. More of a cable model. So Bacon would appear in all episodes for the first year and (if renewed) beyond.

Bacon is set to take on the role of Ryan Hardy, a retired FBI profiler responsible for taking down a serial killer. Years later, the killer is now using technology to create a cult of serial killers and Hardy finds himself in the middle of it.

This marks Bacon's, who recently appeared in X-Men: First Class, first major series role on television, though he's made guest appearances on Will & Grace and Bored to Death.
