Once More, With Feeling: American Idol's Danny Gokey Remarries

Former reality star ties the knot for the second time, with girlfriend Leyicet Peralta

When it comes to love, this American Idol vet is ready for an encore.

Danny Gokey, the soulful finalist whose 2008 Idol bid was marked by the wrenching and untimely death of his wife Sophia, has remarried.

So who's the the lovely lady giving him a second shot at happiness, and how and when did it all go down?

"Wedding day!!!!!!!!!" Gokey excitedly tweeted just yesterday.

The reality show alum tied the knot with girlfriend Leyicet Peralta, a onetime contestant on the NuvoTV program Model Latina. According to People, the duo wed in an intimate ceremony in Florida attended by a hundred guests.

It's notably the second marriage for Gokey. On his Idol season four years ago, in which he finished third behind Adam Lambert and Kris Allen, the singer touchingly shared the pain of losing Sophia a month before his audition. His late wife had suffered from a congenital heart condition and died during routine surgery.

But her memory lives on: Gokey and Peralta announced their engagement last year on the website for Sophia's Heart, a charity that the crooner set up in Sophia's memory.

Additionally, in lieu of gifts at the wedding, Gokey and Peralta reportedly asked that donations be made to Sophia's Heart.

A tribute to past memories while looking to the future? Now that's something to say "I do" to.
