Brad Womack's loss is America's gain!

Reports are surfacing (again) that Emily Maynard, the winner (depends on your definition of winner) of Womack's second go-around on The Bachelor, has been selected to be the new Bachelorette. Womack and Maynard ended their engagement last summer after she was reluctant to relocate.

So what changed her mind? And what did host Chris Harrison have to tell us about Maynard's casting when we caught up with him last week?

While ABC declined to comment on Maynard's casting, a source close to the show tells us the deal is close to being done.

Maynard, 25, was rumored to be the Bachelorette last season, but was reportedly hesitant to leave daughter Ricki to shoot the cycle. Instead, Ashley Hebert was selected and some of her suitors, namely Bentley Williams, who said he signed up for the show for Maynard, were less than thrilled. Maybe Bentley will show up for Maynard? So what changed Maynard's mind about appearing on the show? Production will be moved to her hometown of Charlotte, N.C.

When we brought up the rumors of Maynard's Bachelorette casting to Harrison, he played coy, telling us, "I'm hearing the same rumors, if those rumors are true I will be over the moon excited. If they are true, I don't know if they're true, but I've heard the same thing and man, I hope it's true."

What do you think of Maynard's casting? Are you excited to hang with her again or were you hoping for someone else? Sound off in the comments!
