This summer. (Hooray for summer filler!)

The Glee spinoff, which searches for the next multi-episode guest star on the Fox hit, is already casting after thousands of online auditions and a multi-city casting tour. This season will have 14 final contenders instead of 12, new themes and all new songs. Glee creator Ryan Murphy will return as a judge, along with producer Dante Di Loreto, choreographer Zach Woodlee and vocal coach Nikki Anders.

Last season on The Glee Project, Damian McGinty and Samuel Larson were both crowned winners and given seven-episode arcs on Glee, with runner-ups Lindsay Pearce and Alex Newell awarded two-episode guest roles. McGinty has been appearing as Irish-exchange student Rory Flanagan in Glee's third season, and while Larson has yet to start his episodes, Murphy has said that he might play a relative of Puck's (Mark Salling). Pearce appeared twice as the lead in a rival choir group (remember that amazing "Anything Goes" number in the season premier?), and Newell is expected to pop up in relation to Jonathan Groff's return to Glee.

Are you happy to see The Glee Project is returning? Or would you rather see Glee stick with the originals for the fourth season?
