A bit of good news for Lindsay Lohan, whose new year didn't start off so happily.

A man who allegedly came to the door of her Venice Beach, Calif., home on Sunday because he wanted to talk to the star, but refused to leave the premises when Lohan asked him to go away, has been arrested.

The troubled actress had called police to report the incident.

The LAPD confirmed to E! News that 64-year-old Lonnie Short was taken into custody for trespassing outside a home in Venice Beach. However, authorities could not confirm it was Lohan's home due to their policy of not giving out information about victims.

According to Short's booking sheet, the arrest took place at 7:25 p.m. on Sunday and he is being held on $1,000 bail.

Lohan's rep, Steve Honig, declined to comment.
