At last the wait is over. After a torturous hiatus, Pretty Little Liars finally returns tonight, and there are two things you should know about the midseason premiere: Many burning questions will be answered, and the girls look adorable in orange jumpsuits.

But if you're dying to know even more about the rest of season two—including A's possible identity—get in here. Warning: Super spoilers await.

Showrunner Marlene King has already confirmed that we will learn who A is by the end of this season, but the Pretties' persecutor offered surprising clues (via spine-chilling text messages) to some special reporters (ahem) about his/her diabolical plans for Aria (Lucy Hale), Emily (Shay Mitchell), Hanna (Ashley Benson) and Spencer (Troian Bellisario).

When it comes to A's true identity, Ashley's former BFF Mona (Janel Parrish) is the primary suspect—partly because she is revealed as A in the PLL book series. But when asked whether A attends the girls' high school, the silent persecutor responded, "I have." So why use the past tense if A is the girls' classmate?

As the bully told us via text, A actually wants one of the Liars to learn his/her identity, and their first tête-à- tête happens in tonight's premiere. Eek!

The girls won't be the only ones receiving messages this season. Says A: "The circle widens." A also hints that Emily's girlfriend Maya—who returns to Rosewood and her ex-girlfriend—might be another target, saying: "I always liked Paige better." So much for that romantic reunion!

Speaking of romance, when asked which of the girls' boyfriends A is most interested in, A said Toby (Keegan Allen), then added cryptically, "Wait…what do you mean by interested? ;)" Sounds a lot like Toby's evil stepsister, Jenna (Tammin Sursok), no?

The show's original lovebirds, Ezra (Ian Harding) and Aria, finally put a stop to A's blackmail by revealing their relationship tonight—but A still scores a big win when the naughty schoolteacher is socked in the face. Could their romance take a huge hit as well?

Even more shockers are to come: "You'll learn more about my relationship with Alison" this season, A promises about the pretty posse's murdered ringleader.

And if killing and kidnapping weren't wicked enough, when asked, "How far will you go this season to achieve your aim?" A had an unnerving reply:
"Over the edge."

Dun dun dun!

What do you think is A's ultimate intent? And who do you think the taunting tormentor really is? Make your case in the comments!

Pretty Little Liars returns tonight at 8 p.m. on ABC Family.
