The retirement rumors are back again!

At 82 years old, Barbara Walters is a highly distinguished journalist, author and television personality, interviewing some of the biggest names in history, from Michael Jackson to Vladimir Putin.

But could her reign finally be coming to an end?

While taking a break from interviewing President Barack Obama, Walters leaned in and told him, "I need one more interview with you because I'm retiring next year," not knowing that her microphone was still on and her comment was heard by everyone who was listening. Oops!

Will we really be missing one of the most familiar faces on television in the very near future? Hold on to those remotes, people, because this rumor is...

So false!

Jeff Schneider, senior vice president of ABC News, tells E! News, "I just got off the phone with Barbara Walters and she's joked that she's retiring every year since the Clinton administration. This seems like a typical week in the life of Barbara Walters—from interviews with the president of Syria, to the president of the United States, to the Kardashians!!"

Oh that Barbara, always the trickster.
