Pippa, Check. Kardashians, Ditto. Who Else Made the Most Fascinating List for 2011?

It's that time again when The View mastermind Barbara Walters gives her view of the famous folks who made their mark on the public consciousness this year

Perennial listmaker Barbara Walters is at it again: The news legend is set to unveil her latest love letter to pop culture with Barbara Walters Presents: The 10 Most Fascinating People of 2011, her traditional end-of-year prime-time special set to air Dec. 14 on ABC.

As in past years, the annual catalog rounds up the most prominent figures from entertainment, pop culture and sports whom Walters singles out for having the greatest impact.

So in the words of Bruno, exactly who's in and who's out?

According to the Alphabet net, the program will spotlight the acerbic wit of X-Factor judge Simon Cowell; pop tart Katy Perry, Kate Middleton's now famous sis, Pippa Middleton, Modern Family actors Jesse Tyler Ferguson and Eric Stonestreet, New York Yankees captain Derek Jeter, reality TV star, real estate mogul and fake presidential candidate Donald Trump, and (natch) that crazy clan otherwise known as the Kardashians.

By comparison, 2010's Most Fascinating People sported Tiger Woods, Justin Bieber, the the cast of Jersey Shore, Jennifer Lopez and Sarah Palin (for the second year in a row) among others. Oh, and let's not forget Kate Middleton also on the occasion of her globally televised to Prince William and becoming the Duchess of Cambridge.

None of those folks are expected to return for an encore appearance this year. That is, we won't know until the No. 1 most fascinating person for 2011 is revealed at the end of the show, which is now in its 19th season.
