And they said it wouldn't last. Well, turns out they were right. So now that bachelorette-once-more Ali Fedotowsky's former fiancé no longer wants to put a ring on it, where oh where has that bauble gone?

According to reports, the reality star has already returned (in record time, it would seem) the 3-carat, asscher-cut $50,000 diamond engagement ring from whence it came—not to former TV love Roberto Martinez, but to celebrity jeweler Neil Lane.

But is it true? Did Ali really part with her precious so soon? Don't touch that dial, because this rumor is…

So false!

Despite the report that Ali has returned the bling, sources tell E! News that no such give-back has not (yet) occurred and that they believe Fedotowsky is still in possession of the ring.

While it's both possible and highly likely that she will return the diamond—like the bachelors and bachelorettes who've seen their betrothals goes bust before her—to the jeweler. But seeing as how the breakup was just announced a mere two days ago, we're thinking she had better uses of her time than hightailing it to the jewelry store within 24 hours of her split.

Like stocking up on Ben & Jerry's.
