Christina Applegate knows what Giuliana Rancic, who revealed yesterday that she's fighting breast cancer, is going through. And, like the rest of Rancic's vast support system, Applegate has no intention of letting her go it alone.

"I'm here for her," the Emmy winner told E! News during a visit to the set of her new sitcom, Up All Night.

"I know that journey so well, how that feels [to get] that phone call. I get what's she's going through."

Rancic announced that she was recently diagnosed with early stage cancer, and she will be taking some time off to undergo a lumpectomy and radiation treatment.

"I've been keeping this secret from a lot of dear friends for a while now, and it's nice to get it out there and not hide anymore," she told friend and E! News co-anchor Ryan Seacrest.

Applegate was declared "100 percent clear" of breast cancer in August 2008 after undergoing treatment. She also opted for a preventative double mastectomy, although the cancer was only detected in one breast.

"I didn't want to go back to the doctors every four months for testing and squishing and everything," Applegate said at the time. "I just wanted to kind of get rid of this whole thing for me."

Wanda Sykes also recently revealed that she underwent a double mastectomy in order to ensure that her breast cancer would not return.

"I started realizing I could be an example for women to not just be aware of breast cancer, but to act on it," Rancic told Seacrest. "To make an appointment, to give themselves an exam. Because truly, Ryan, the bottom line is, the earlier you find it, the better chance you have of survival."
