Kristin Cavallari certainly didn't expect to be sent home so soon from Dancing with the Stars, but is she sitting at home and crying about it?

Heck no!

Just hours after her shocking elimination, The Hills starlet hit Hollywood for a night of partying...

"I'm really sad," Cavallari said at last night's Just Dance 3 launch party at The Beverly in West Hollywood. "But I'd rather go out on top and have people be shocked rather than like 'Thank God, she's leaving! It's about her time.' "

She added, "It is what it is. That's the thing with Dancing With the Stars. You never know. It's clearly not a dance competition."

So if it weren't her dance scores that hurt her, what did?

"Everyone had such amazing stories and mine was, you know, I graduated high school and moved up to L.A. to pursue a career in entertainment which isn't all that sad," she said. "I think that may have hurt me a little bit."

Cavallari wasn't as talkative about her rumored on-again beau Jay Cutler, declining to answer questions about the relationship.

After hanging out inside the bash and busting some moves to the new Just Dance 3 video game, Cavallari took the party to West Hollywood hot spot Trousdale, where she danced with DWTS partner Mark Ballas until about 1 a.m.

Nothing like a night out on the town to get your mind off the mirror-ball trophy.
