Is Elisabetta Canalis gearing up for a catfight?

According to Us Weekly, George Clooney's ex-girlfriend was fuming when she discovered The Ides of March star had moved on to Stacy Keibler, even going so far as to send nasty text messages to Clooney about his new lady.

So is it true?

Not even, according to Clooney and Canalis.

"The story running in the current issue of Us Weekly about Elli and Stacy was completely fabricated in order to sell magazines," Clooney told E! News. "I never comment on my personal life unless it affects others...and this lie affects others. Since I would be the only actual witness, I asked [them] to correct [their] story immediately, but that would assume [they] cared at all about telling the truth."

And then it was Canalis' turn.

"Us Weekly was informed on Monday that their story was 100% false and they proceeded to print it anyway," a rep for the (just-axedDancing With the Stars hoofer told E! News as well.

Canalis and Clooney called it quits in June after dating for two years. Soon after their split, rumors started flying that the Oscar winner had started up a romance with Keibler.
