We said it first: Kate Winslet should play Elizabeth Taylor whenever the story of her life is put on film (as it should be, ‘cause it's butt loads more sexy than half the movies made today).

And now we are so delighted to find out that none other than Kate herself has weighed in on the subject:

And she agrees with us! Not only is she totally down with dressing up as Taylor, she's already started—just check out the latest V magazine to see just how spectacular Kate looks getting her Taylor on.

Trust, this is no pathetic Lindsay Lohan playing little-girl-dress-up as Marilyn Monroe, but a true, accomplished British diva emulating another.

Not to mention, one who knows her way around the love-scandal thing, as well as nabbing an Academy Award.

K.W. says about the legend who just passed: "There was a real fearlessness in her. [But] In candid snapshots she was really quite soft, and she would really screw up her face. I do that as well. To me, she hid vulnerability pretty successfully."

We agree. That's why it'll take a knowing beauty (who's savy around the media) like Winslet to pull this one off.

Where's this project, already, Hollywood?

Sofia Coppola, why aren't you on this?
